Top Essential Oils for Supporting Your Immune System

Over my years of using essential oils, I've gathered some favorite tips and tricks that have helped us out again and again. Even though my husband is a Pediatrician, we turn to these natural solutions most of the time. They are so good!

Top Essentials for Natural Immune Support

My favorite immune support blend:

Combine the following doTERRA essential oils in a 10ml glass roller bottle & then top with fractionated coconut oil:

  • 10 drops Frankincense

  • 10 drops OnGuard

  • 10 Drops Tea Tree

  • 10 drops Lemon

  • 10 drops Oregano

Rub a few swipes on the bottoms of the feet 2x a day.

Drink Bone Broth (aka chicken stock):

Homemade chicken stock contains a wealth of nutrients, helps strengthen the immune system & is also known for its antiviral properties. You can drink a cup or two each day along with some Celtic sea salt (an unrefined salt that contains extra minerals). If you prefer not to drink it from a cup, make a big pot of soup & serve some alongside meals or send some to school with the kids in an insulated thermos.

Take an epsom salt & Lavender bath:

When we're stressed, the first mineral our body burns through is magnesium, & a deficiency in magnesium can cause all sorts of health issues. An easy way to replenish magnesium stores is to take an epsom salt bath. Add 1 cup of Epsom salts & 2 drops of lavender to your bath & soak for 20 minutes. The stress will melt away! :)

Eat healthy saturated fats daily:

Unprocessed, saturated fats are essential for energy, hormone production, a healthy immune system, + many other important functions. These fats include but aren't limited to: organic butter (butter can help strengthen the immune system, suppresses inflammation, & is a great source of iodine), coconut oil (contains antiviral + antimicrobial properties which are great for keeping the immune system strong), & ghee.

Use MetaPWR Metabolic Assist to keep healthy blood sugar levels in check:

Unbalanced blood sugar levels can cause inflammation, hormonal issues, & make the body susceptible to getting sick. Take one MetaPWR Assist capsule with your highest carb meal of the day. You can even have one at each meal if you're trying to meet some bigger health goals.

Reduce sugar intake:

Sugar causes inflammation + weakens the immune system. Keep the desserts at a minimum. I know it's hard! ;) But so worth it.

Use essential oils to reduce stress to protect the immune system:

Nothing wrecks havoc on the immune system like stress does! So, use essential oils each day that help you feel more relaxed. Some of my favorites are: Lavender, Balance, Serenity, Adaptiv, Wild Orange, Cedarwood, Vetiver & AromaTouch.

Take probiotics each day (these are my favorite):

Over 85% of the immune system is in the gut, so it’s important to keep the gut healthy. One way to do this is by taking a daily probiotic…and most on the market don't actually get to your gut, which is the target. The ones I take are combined with a prebiotic (to keep the probiotics alive) and are also double encapsulated to ensure they make it past the acid in your stomach and open once they get to your intestines.

Remember! The center of the immune system lies in the gut, so you need to keep it as healthy as possible to keep your immune system strong. Chlorine is a disinfectant that kills bacteria & is added to most drinking water. It can damage the good bacteria in your gut, making you more susceptible to inflammation, allergies, autoimmune disease, etc.
