Essential Oils Diffuser Recipes for Every Month of the Year!

I've explained previously about the importance of looking for the word “fragrance” on ingredient lists. Fragrance is a catch-all name companies can use to not disclose their so called ‘secret sauce’. Unfortunately they can hide any number of toxic ingredients under “fragrance”.

What kinds of things can “fragrance” cause?

Here are a few:

👉  hormone disruption

👉  ADHD

👉  headaches/migraines

👉  allergies

What are some common places that toxic “fragrance” hides?

Here are just a few common ones:

👉  scented candles

👉  plug-ins

👉  Febreze

👉  dryer sheets

👉  laundry detergent

👉  hand soap

👉  lotions & cosmetics

👉  perfume

Here's what happened to me.

I used to love stocking up on holiday candles at Bath & Body Works. You might do this too. When I started using essential oils & cleaning up toxins in my home, I didn't buy any new candles, but I didn't get rid of the ones I had in my cabinet for the holidays. I didn't want to throw that money away, so I figured I'd finish them up & then just not purchase any new ones. When the holidays rolled around, I pulled out my pumpkin & my pine-scented candles. Within 5 minutes I had post nasal drip & a headache.

Wow. After cleaning up my home, the difference when fragrance invaded was extremely noticeable.

First name / friend, if you've been with me awhile you probably know about my son's ADHD. So it was a no-brainer at that point. I had experienced the proof for myself. We were done with fragrance.

But you don't want to miss out on the fun scents around the holidays … & you don't have to. Diffusing essential oils is the perfect solution. And along with setting the mood in your home, essential oils can benefit us both physically & emotionally ... it's super fun & easy to do with your diffuser!

I thought it would be fun to share with you some of my favorite diffuser recipes ... ones that work well for each month of the year. I also included the benefits of each oil. I hope you love these as much as I do!

Top Seasonal Diffuser Recipes

January

3 drops each Siberian Fir & Bergamot.

This is a very "cozy" scent. It reminds me of curling up under a blanket on the couch in front of a crackling fire - mug of hot chocolate in hand.

February

2 drops each Lemon, Grapefruit, & Citrus Bliss.

This is the "Winter Blah Lifter". This month can be dark & gray. I love this blend to lift me & motivate me to get things done. It's a pump of sunshine while I'm waiting for Spring!

March

3 drops each Rosemary & Lime.

This smells very much like spring! The Rosemary is good for studying & memory, while the citrusy Lime will help keep you from falling asleep on your book if you need to get some reading or studying done.

April

2 drops each Ylang Ylang, Wild Orange, & Ginger.

This scent is a little floral, a little citrus, & a little spice...so yummy smelling.

May

2 drops each Purify, Bergamot, & Eucalyptus.

This is a "fresh & springy" neutral clean scent. Love this.

June

3 drops Grapefruit, 3 drops Siberian Fir, 1 drop Citrus Bliss.

This scent is reminiscent of walking into the Anthropologie store. So soothing & fresh!

July

3 drops each Lavender & Balance.

The floral of the Lavender, & the piney undertones in Balance really remind me of the mountains in summer.

August

3 drops each OnGuard & Citrus Bliss.

This is my "Back to School" recipe for helping us stay well & motivated.

September

5 drops Wild Orange, 1 drop Patchouli, & 1 drop Ginger.

This has the smell of "Autumn Leaves" crunching under your feet.

October

2 drops each Clove, Cinnamon, & Ginger.

This has the warming scent of "Apple Pie". Great kick off to the holiday season!

November

1 drop Cassia, 1 drop Clove, & 4 drops Wild Orange.

This is another really great scent I love around Thanksgiving & Christmas. Cassia is a "cinnamony" scent. When you combine that with spicy clove, & citrusy wild orange ... it smells like a warming mug of cider or wassail.

December

3 drops Bergamot, 1 drop Cinnamon, & 2 drops Douglas Fir.

This is a fabulous "Christmasy" scent. That Douglas Fir ... man do I love that. Especially since we have a fake Christmas tree. This is SO much better than that synthetic pine scent people use to make it smell like a real tree ... because this is the REAL thing!
